Whilst best known for it's Automotive Dealer Management system, "Autoline", the company has diversified over the years into other areas of the motor trade such as Fleet, Contract Hire and Electronic Auction systems. One such diversification was into the area of Vehicle Importer Management Systems (IMS). This came about through the formation of Kerridge Computer Company Ireland Limited in 1982 (Now part of ADP), which was established to service the Irish market in the area of dealer management systems and in the intervening years has become the market leader in DMS.
The Irish market was unique in that most Vehicle Importers were independent of the manufacturers. This provided the catalyst for the company to develop vehicle importer systems with the specific functionality required for independent importers to operate and interface to their manufacturers for vehicle importation and distribution.
The first systems developed in the mid 1980's simply computerised existing manual systems with later developments focusing on new business processes and operations made possible by applying state of the art technology.
By 1994, having built a substantial client base in the Irish Market, with such importers as Nissan, Peugeot, Citroen, Seat and Honda to name but a few, the company decided to expand the product into the international market, securing business with Daewoo Europe. This development brought the system into a new environment, Revision 7 with full database support and application tool sets. Revision 7 also provided application functionality, which enabled dealers to connect to the importer system on-line for visibility and limited interactive processing.
By 1996 the importer system had a proven track record internationally, securing major projects through Europe and the Far East. Revision 8, the latest version of the product was developed to service these international markets over the following years. The product was built on the core functionality of its Revision 7 predecessor but was a Windows compliant forms based GUI application.
In 1998 a contract was secured with the Colt Car Company, the UK Mitsubishi Distributor for implementing the Revision 8 Importer System across its dealer network over a Virtual Private Network with the Client being launched via a Browser.
These developments and the associated Knowledge Base, which has been built up over the years, lead to the formation of a dedicated International Vehicle Importer Systems Division in Ireland in 1999. A dedicated team of specialist Business Consultants, System Analysts, Software developers and Help Desk personnel supports this division.
