Save time and money using ADP’s new print solutions

Trident Garages, a two-site Honda dealership have been Autoline users for many years. Since 1999, they have been using Print Manager (formerly KPrint) to provide the business with professional quality printed forms, which replaces the need for pre-printed stationery. Trident have recently been trialling Print Plan, the new ADP printer rental solution and have been impressed by its simplicity and cost-effectiveness.

Chris Roberts, Finance Director, explains the background, "We have been happy with KPrint and it has worked well for us. At the time it provided a professional and flexible solution deployed at both locations with a wide range of configuration options. We were able to tightly control all aspects of the printing and include such things as SMS and fax control. However, our KPrint servers became overdue for replacement and the laser printers themselves had become administratively cumbersome and costly."

Recently ADP introduced a hosted option for Print Manager. "This solution was ideal for us," continued Chris Roberts. "It was a very attractive proposition for us to deploy our Print Manager infrastructure centrally within an ADP data centre. The costs are based on a fixed monthly rental with a licence/ support fee based on users. We were able to eliminate the main concerns about printing."

Print Plan - simplicity and a single monthly payment

Trident was invited by ADP to pilot Print Plan, one of the company’s latest products which has been designed to enable management to gain more visibility of printing activity and associated costs. Offering up-to-date Lexmark printers, without the capital outlay, all printing and associated costs have been bundled together. The principle is to pay for what you print with a single, budgeted payment.

"Our initial investment in laser printers proved successful. However over ten years, as breakdowns occurred another unit took its place, often as a result of ‘a good deal’. As a result, we had a range of printers, varying degrees of reliability and different consumables to maintain," explained Chris. "Print Plan resolved the problem with a designated range of printers sharing the same consumables and even the same telephone number to call for support issues. It has made so much difference. We are pleased that ADP gave us the opportunity to trial Print Plan. It was the right choice for us and one that we will continue to use."

In summary, Print Plan is a cost-effective printing solution that removes outdated printers that are often an expensive overhead, especially when taking into account the resources needed to deal with day-to-day issues. Chris concluded, "Having a comprehensive fully managed service from ADP we simply don’t have to think about printing and we can use our time more effectively in running the business."
